Calvin University’s unique Master of Education online program prepares you for a variety of careers. Choosing from a literacy concentration or inclusion specialist concentration allows you to grow your instructional leadership skills and choose from a variety of Master of Education jobs.
Employment of special education teachers is expected to grow by 2028, with the majority needed in elementary and secondary schools. 1 The need for instructional coordinators and specialists is also projected to increase in the K–12 environment. 2

Special Education Teacher
In this position, you would work closely with students who have diverse learning needs. Special education teachers develop lessons to meet the abilities of their students, as well as mentor other teachers and parents to influence student progress.
In this role, you could develop and implement curriculum, suggest materials, and coach other teachers. With the literacy concentration, you would focus on designing a reading curriculum to positively impact literacy skills in students. With the inclusion concentration, you would focus on creating inclusive coursework and plans.
